Welcome to Recipe Retake! My name is Melissa. I'm an African-American private chef, writer, videographer, and stylist. I use my expertise and personal journey to create delicious recipes and creative content about food and lifestyle for you! My passion is wellness- for people and the planet. I'm certified culinary arts and whole food plant-based nutrition science. I created Recipe Retake to connect and inspire everyday people all over the world like you and me to cook and eat plants daily. Everybody wants to boost their immunity to fight disease. Most people have been lead to believe that good health and good food is too hard and too expensive. My personal health journey, cooking for professional athletes and my education have taught me that you don't have to be wealthy to be healthy. The plant-based recipes I share on this site are both easy and affordable. Let me be clear that site is not just for vegans and vegetarians. I make one delicious dish two very different ways. I want everyone to taste and experience the difference.
